Meeting with representatives from provincial governments that make up the Federal Dairy Council, the Ministry of Agriculture addressed current issues and evaluated policies for the dairy sector.

President of the Centre for Argentine Dairy, Miguel Paulon, said that the meeting was very productive. Looking at the outlook for the sector, Mr Paulon said that production so far this year was up eight per cent. Projections suggest that cumulative production in 2012 will be five per cent higher than in 2011.

"Every year, milk production in Argentina is increasing," he said. "Whilst we have a strong domestic market, we must also look to foreign markets and train smaller and medium size enterprises to deal with these markets."
