U.S. government seeks to overturn court ban on Canadian cattle imports
US - A U.S. government lawyer slammed an American ranching group Wednesday for using questionable scientific reasoning to justify a continued ban on Canadian cattle imports. "Their risk assessment assumes everything goes wrong," Mark Stern, acting for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, told the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. The USDA is appealing a temporary injunction that bars the resumption of shipments of live Canadian cattle under 30 months of age. The court reserved its decision.Source: cbc.ca
