Increased Profitability With Good Animal Health

SWEDEN - The well-being of calves lays the foundation for profitable dairy businesses and create opportunities for growth in milk of Sweden. This is the main theme of the Swedish Dairy Animal Health and Feeding Conference, which will be held in Karlstad.

For this year's conference, around 250 vets, advisers and other stakeholders in the Swedish dairy industry will take advantage of the latest technology and reserch in dairy farming, focusing on animal health.

Swedish and international experts will give lectures on topics such as drug use, disease control, stable environment and grazing.

But other current issues in the industry will also be disscussed. Some of them are milk's carbon footprint, milk production in the debate- the latest dairy research and good advice to anyone who wants to invest, and ways to get profitable dairy business.

"We want to offer participants a broad and inspiring mix of new knowledge in the dairy business, which they can then use and pass on to farmers," says Lotta Christchurch Vallarta, Project Manager, The Swedish Dairy Association.

"The Swedish dairy industry is going through a tough period with a tough economy on many farms, especially here in Värmland. It is therefore all the more certainty that here at Swedish Dairy Association, we can help with both training and inspiration."

Animal Health and Feeding Conference is aimed at veterinarians and other advisers to the Swedish dairy farmers but also being watched by other stakeholders in the dairy industry. The conference will be held in Karlstad CCC in central Karlstad, starting at 10:00 on 5 September.
