UK - Retail giant Marks and Spencer has announced an increase of 2.307 pence per litre(ppl) to its 42 dedicated milk suppliers from the first of August 2011.

This increase is based on the Milk Pledge plus pricing formula, which takes account of the farmers' costs of production as well as reflecting movement in the retail price of milk sold through Marks and Spencer stores.

This will take the standard litre price to almost 32ppl. With no other dedicated liquid milk contracts announcing price movements for August, this will put the M&S contract at the top of the DairyCo League Table in August.
