In recognition of the importance of this issue and to enable the FSA board members to better appreciate the views of stakeholders, the agency has organised four public meetings:

  • Bath – Guildhall Monday 16 May
  • Durham – Durham Town Hall Monday 16 May
  • Carlisle – Hallmark Hotel Tuesday 17 May
  • Colchester – Holiday Inn Colchester Tuesday 17 May

Registration will take place from 17:30 and the meetings will run from 18:00 to 20:00.

Attendees will hear more about the proposals and have the opportunity to share their views. The board will draw on the comments, alongside the other evidence received, as part of their decision-making process.

NFU comments that these meetings are going to be crucial in ensuring that the FSA board members gain a true understanding of industry concerns over full cost recovery. It is therefore essential that as many members attend the meetings as possible in order that the red meat industry has a strong say and can attempt to influence any future decisions on full cost recovery.
