Discussing Ag Development At G20

FRANCE - Bruno Le Maire, Minister of Agriculture, Food, Fisheries, Rural and Regional Planning has met with representatives of farmers organisations to discuss the mobilisation of food security and business development related to agriculture, under the French Presidency of the G20.

For several months, these organisations have been involved in the preparation of the French Presidency of the G20 by the Department of Agriculture.

At that meeting, the Minister discussed with participants the main directions of work of the French Presidency of the G20 on the volatility of agricultural markets and food crisis prevention, including:

  • improving transparency in agricultural markets;
  • better coordination to prevent and manage crises in agriculture;
  • regulation of financial markets in commodity derivatives;
  • the situation of the countries most vulnerable, particularly to boost the sustainable development of agriculture.

Bruno MAYOR brings together agriculture ministers of the G20 in Paris on 22 and 23 June.
