More FMD Cases in Central, Southeastern Regions

SOUTH KOREA - South Korea confirmed two additional cases of foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) in the country's central and southeastern regions on Thursday, despite nationwide quarantine and vaccination efforts.

The additional cases in Chungju and Yeongyang, 147 kilometers and 330km away from Seoul, brings the total number of confirmed FMD outbreaks in the country to 118 after animals started showing symptoms in late November, the Ministry of Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries said.
