Celebrities Raise Milk’s Appeal
UK - Supermodel and F1 world champion are the new ‘make mine Milk’ celebs. The original supermodel, Elle Macpherson, and reigning Formula 1 world champion, Jenson Button, are the latest A-list celebrities to sport the famous ‘milk tash’ as part of Great Britain’s 'make mine Milk' campaign.
Both stars were thrilled to lend their famous faces to the campaign and proclaim their love for the white stuff. They join the likes of Gordon Ramsay, Pixie Lott, Usher and The A Team in raising awareness of all the benefits of low fat, nutrient-dense milk.
Formula 1 World Champion and keen triathlete, Jenson Button, took a pit stop from defending his world title to pose with his milk tash an praise the nutritional qualities of milk. He said: "A nice cool glass of milk is something I've enjoyed since childhood. You have to be healthy to stay at the top of your game, so low fat milk packed with vitamins and nutrients ticks all the boxes."
Britain's Next Top Model host Elle Macpherson, better known to some as ‘The Body', proves in the 'make mine Milk' photos that she looks good in anything, even a milk tash.
She said: “Working as a model means that I need to be in the best possible shape all year round, so it’s really important that I have a balanced diet. As many milk varieties are low in fat and provide lots of nutrients, it’s a great product to help me feel healthy and hydrated. My fridge at home is always stocked with milk and my kids love it!”
Though people may be used to seeing Jenson in a racing car, from today he and Elle will be seen on the side of a somewhat larger set of wheels as the advertisements appear on thousands of buses across the country. Giant posters of Elle’s famous bikini body will appear in cities across England, Scotland and Wales and are guaranteed to raise the style stakes for British milk.
The ‘make mine Milk' campaign is designed to revive the nation's love for milk, reminding people that most milk varieties contain less than two per cent fat, and as it is nutrient-dense, low fat milk is also extremely healthy. It was created by the Milk Marketing Forum, which is a consortium of leading dairy companies comprised of Arla Foods UK, Dairy Crest Limited, First Milk, Milk Link and Robert Wiseman Dairies, with support provided by Dairy UK and The Dairy Council. Of the £7.5m spend, a third comes from European Commission funding.
