The Michigan Department of Agriculture says that following the discovery of bovine TB in a herd in Emmet County in March, one of teh bulls from the herd has been connected to a second farm.

This makes it the second herd infected in Emmet County this year, according to a report on 9&10 News.

If another two herds become infected then tighter regulations will have to be imposed on farmers in the area.

"It’d be even more constricting," MDA Bovine TB Project Coordinator James Averill told 9&10 News.

"They’re getting very concerned with this being the second herd in the 12 month period in this area."

The Michigan Department of Agriculture has been meeting with local farmers and the community to discuss the consequences of a bovine TB outbreak.
