Since confirming the disease both infected animals were slaughtered.

The two animals were tested seropositive for IBR in the course of the national survey to demonstrate freedom from IBR.

They had no clinical signs and no indication of disease spread is given, as all other cattle on the affected farms over two years of age have serologically tested negative for IBR.

The two cases were close to the French border. The source of the outbreak is unknown.
