The development means Rectory Foods' portfolio now extends to include over 50 new fresh and frozen pork and beef products.
Acura Foods Ltd brings twenty years' commercial and technical experience in red meat distribution and has a wide network of customers and business links in Europe, Asia and North America. Based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, the business has extensive knowledge of local, national and international markets, documentation, specifications and legal and safety requirements, as a result of its long-standing relationships with buyers and suppliers.
David Eaton is managing director of Acura Foods and will manage the new red meat division, under Rectory Foods.
The deal means that Rectory Foods now offers pork and beef products to its customers in the foodservice, wholesale, food manufacturing and retail sectors, in addition to poultry, vegetables and food ingredients.
The partnership will be officially launched in April at the Food and Hotel Asia exhibition in Singapore, where Rectory Foods will be participating as part of the EBLEX (English Beef and Lamb Executive) commission. Following this, the red meat division will focus on boosting sales in the UK, Far East and African markets.
Charles Woolley, founder and director of Rectory Foods says: "The partnership allows us to extend our product portfolio and the natural addition is red meat. Acura Food's knowledge and expertise will be a valuable asset to us, and this, coupled with our own experience and networks will strengthen our position in the food industry and build on our reputation as a reliable and efficient provider of quality meat products and food ingredients.
"We are planning further growth and expansion in 2010 and beyond as we take on more staff and increase our customer base, and this development is a great platform for us to build on."
David Eaton says: "We are delighted to be part of Rectory Foods and welcome the opportunity to share our industry insight and knowledge of the marketplace with such a reputable company. There are exciting times ahead for Rectory Foods and it is an honour for us to be a part of its success."
