North-West Queensland grazier Zander McDonald says the current legislation would cause huge job losses, reports ABCRural.

According to the news item, he says the government must rule out any plan that affects agriculture.

"If the scheme goes through in its current format, for agriculture we're looking at a possible loss of revenue of $11 billion by 2030, production declines of about 25 per cent in beef and wool by 2030," he says.

"So I think it 'd pretty well wipe out the beef industry of Australia if it goes through in its current format."
