QMS is sponsoring a Scottish Slimmers promotion highlighting that you can eat red meat as part of a healthy diet, as well as a weight loss plan.

Scottish Slimmers is promoting traditional meals featuring lean Scotch Beef, Scotch Lamb and Specially Selected Pork in their magazine Boost. The magazine highlights that real food can get real results, and eating well is possible, whatever your budget.

They are also running a competition to choose a favourite healthy meat meal. Members have the opportunity to nominate their favourite healthy meal featuring Scotch Beef, Scotch Lamb or Specially Selected Pork, which will then be judged in the Great Food Celebration Cook-off in April.

Jennifer Robertson, registered dietitian and QMS health and education coordinator, said: “Not only is red meat a lean source of protein, it’s also a great source of essential nutrients that keep you healthy and happy.

“Keeping to your new year’s resolution to eat healthier is even easier when you can choose from a wide variety of tasty, family favourites such as meatballs, bolognaise, lasagne and cottage pie. All these delicious meals can be made ahead and frozen until you need them, perfect for when you’re on the go!”
