According to Wales Online, around 230 Holstein Friesians at Ffosyficer Farm at Abercych, near Newcastle Emlyn, have already been put down after the disease was discovered.

The news agency claims that as of today, a further 335 cows will be killed, but hundreds more in a herd of more than 1,000 are still at risk.

The herd provides milk for Trioni Ltd, which is based on the farm and sells its award-winning Daioni range to customers worldwide, including Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.

The farm stressed yesterday that its products are not affected in any way by the outbreak.
