Anders Andersen, Viking Genetics International export manager, made the following statements prior to the Agromek Exhibition in Herning, Denmark -- which will take place November 25-29. There visitors will be able to gain more information regarding Viking Genetics.

"We have exports to more than 50 countries. In the USA, developments have been particularly rapid. We now have an annual sale of approximately 240,000 doses of bull semen to the USA out of a total export of 1.2 million doses."

Viking Genetics was established almost a year ago via an amalgamation of the Danish Dansire and the Swedish Svensk Avl associations.

"The reason for this strong increase in exports is partly due to the tendency that cattle farmers no longer only focus on milk yields but also concentrate on livestock health aspects. Healthy stock, which are more durable, represent economic advantages."

"We are competitive in this field. This is due to the fact that, in the Nordic countries, farmers have registered herd milk yields and health data for many years."

"We are thus able to effectuate selection of bulls on a basis of their health profiles. Only the best and most economic bulls are selected."

"At the same time, we can provide our customers with more information regarding the bulls than that which is available from our competitors," concludes Andersen.
