Romania currently has 3.2 million cattle, 1.75 million of which being meant for milk and reproduction, Cristinel Sonea said.

“Some 700,000 cows of the total cattle provide Romania’s milk quota, which means that we might get more meat-producing cows by cross-breeding. At present, roughly 32% of the total cattle are milk cows of Hollstein breed, while the remainder are mixed milk and meat breeds”, he explained to Financiarul.
