"Beef that has been processed, such as minced meat, cannot be exported from the United States to Japan," said the official on Friday. He added that the minced beef came from the firm’s plant in Dodge City, Kansas, USA.

Currently, Japan is urging the US government to look into the situation, reports Meat International.

According to the news agency, the ban of all US beef imports initially took place in Tokyo in December 2003 due to concerns about mad cow disease. However, later it resumed shipments of beef but on strict conditions.
