Not only is EuroTier recognised as the world's largest exhibition for farm animal management and equipment, the event this November in Hanover, Germany is also an important international veterinary meeting place.

Animal health experts are attending a major congress held for the first time there. This congress features a Veterinary Medicine Exhibition as well as an International Animal Health Event hosted by the Federal Association of Practicing Veterinarians (bpt), the Federation of Veterinarians of Europe and the DLG, organiser of EuroTier 2008.

"This confluence of veterinary and farming sectors adds even more importance to EuroTier as world platform for cross-sector animal production synergies," points out Dr Schlösser, EuroTier Project Manager. "Farmers can meet and discuss with vets at the Animal Health Event as well as at EuroTier's special animal production and breeding demonstrations and forums. At the same time, visiting veterinarians get a close-up of the latest developments in animal equipment, housing, ventilation and nutrition and how these affect animal health."

The Federal Association of Practicing Veterinarians Annual Congress overlaps EuroTier, starting 13 November through to 16 November, as does the associated Veterinary Medicine Exhibition. Access to both events is only for registered vets or other congress participants.

But specially invited farmers already attending EuroTier can join the visiting vets at the International Animal Health Event on Thursday 13 November featuring the official opening of the bpt congress and presentation of papers of vital importance to animal production including livestock epidemic strategies and farmer-vet cooperation for disease control at both farm and regional levels.
