Mexico Lifts Ban on Alberta Cattle
MEXICO - Mexico has lifted a two-month old ban on imports of breeding cattle from Alberta, imposed following the discovery of Canada's 14th case of mad cow disease in the province"The government took swift action to have the Mexican border re-opened to Alberta's high-quality cattle," stated Ritz.
In August, Mexico banned imports of Alberta beef and dairy breeding cattle -- but did not stopping the flow of beef into the country -- in a move Ritz and industry officials complained had no legitimacy from a scientific perspective.
