The acquisition announced at the Dairy Event at the Royal Agricultural Centre in Stoneleigh Warwickshire on Wednesday means that NSF-CMi, which already certifies the Assured Dairy Farm Scheme, will have a customer base of more than 10,000 livestock farmers in the beef, lamb and dairy sectors.

NSF-CMi said that the merged businesses would benefit the farmers with a range of farm to fork assurances.

The merger will bring cost benefits as the different schemes can be assessed in one visit.

NSF-CMi added that it is also developing new risk management services for farmers in the areas of health and safety, livestock disease and environmental controls.

"We are very pleased to have reached this agreement with CMS UK, with whom we already have a close working relationship," said NSF-CMi Certification managing director, David Richardson.
