Promoting Beef in Europe

UK - More than 30 journalists were treated to the delights of British Quality Standard roast beef at a recent event in Paris organised by the English Beef and Lamb Executive, EBLEX Ltd.

Michelin-starred chef Jean-Francois Piège, of "Les Ambassadeurs" restaurant showed a number of different ways of preparing and serving.

He was full of praise for Quality Standard beef, particularly its tenderness and juiciness, an EBLEX spokesman said.

Meanwhile, a St Georges Tournedos Rossini was the highlight of an EBLEX dinner, which followed a recent young chefs competition in Strasbourg.

The main course married Quality Standard beef with foie gras supplied by the Masse company which specialises in supplying delicacies to top French restaurants. It is now developing a successful meat section including Quality Standard beef.

EBLEX also joined forces with Food From Britain to promote Quality Standard beef in Spain. The event in Madrid, which was extremely successful, was attended by exporters, press and retailers who were given a presentation on the unique qualities of QSM beef.
