Technical Director Ed Komorowski said: “Dairy UK and its members are willing to play a full part in improving the nation’s health, and will be working closely with the FSA to deliver a workable strategy.”

The FSA programme includes the need to restrict calorie intake to match energy expenditure. This makes it particularly important that the calories consumed provide the nutrients necessary to maintain good health.

“Dairy products have an important role in helping people to achieve a balanced diet. They provide high quality protein, calcium and micronutrients essential for good health, and are available in a wide range of fat contents,” Komorowski added.
