LIC purchases 2% of National Milk Records (NMR)

UK - Farm improvement company, LIC, has purchased 2% of National Milk Records (NMR) in the United Kingdom.

NMR is the largest milk recording organisation in Europe providing milk recording and dairy software to the UK dairy industry.

LIC CEO, Mark Dewdney, said the small stake “will enable us to work collaboratively with NMR in fields of interest.”

National Milk Records (NMR)

  • Europe’s largest milk recording organisation with a database containing records of over:
  • 9.5m animals
  • 32m individual lactations
  • 110m individual recording visits.
  • NMR’s origins date back to 1943.
  • The company is listed on the UK PLUS Stock Exchange and posted a profit, before tax, of GBP334,000 for the 2006-2007 year.
  • Shareholders number 27,128 the majority holding less than 500 shares.
  • LIC’s shareholding of 150,000 shares makes it one of the larger shareholders.
