Farmer compensation call renewed
UK - The National Farmers Union Scotland has renewed its call for the UK government to pay out compensation for lost income in the latest foot-and-mouth outbreak.

Farmers leaders say the responsibility to help farmers over a serious financial crisis lies at Westminster.
NFUS livestock spokesman Nigel Miller, who farms in the Borders, said there were various financial options open.
Prime Minister Gordon Brown has already asked Environment Secretary Hilary Benn to look at ways to help the industry.
The government has also pledged to help farmers affected by bluetongue disease.
It will be looking at the financial implications of the outbreaks and study what actions can be taken to help.
'Real responsibility'
Mr Miller said that whatever was done it would need to be implemented as soon as possible.
"What we are really looking for is something quick to actually allow these businesses to carry forward into next season," he said.
He said there were two or three options available including Less Favoured Area payments being made early.
