Placements during April fell 3% to 1.57 million head due to continuing uncertainties in the feed market and higher than expected placements in February and March.

Fed cattle marketings during April were 2% higher than a year ago, reaching 1.82 million head.

All results were very close to the pre-report analyst estimates. Therefore, analysts expect the report to have a neutral impact on the futures market.
