Jamaican cattle farmers oppose ‘suspect’ beef importation
JAMAICA - The country's cattle farmers are again expressing concerns regarding what they say is the influx of beef products from Costa Rica and other countries.Based on the published statement, these burgers are being sold below $325 per kilogram.
According to the association, the ex factory price for these products is well below internationally quoted prices.
The association says it strongly opposes the granting of any waiver or duty concession on imported beef.
