Dairy Farmers’ Welfare Bill

INDIA - Civil Supplies Minister CDivakaran has said that the Dairy Farmers Welfare Bill will be introduced in the Assembly.

Inaugurating the animal husbandry and agricultural exhibition (Jeeva 07) on RAIC premises at Kottiyam on Tuesday, he said that the Bill would have suggestions to make the dairy farmers self-sufficient and women to get an income of Rs150 per day.

Divakaran said that a request had been made to the Union Government to include the Idukki and Alappuzha districts also in the Vidarbha Model Package along with Kasargod, Palakkad and Wayanad districts.

The Minister said the notion that the IT field only would generate income was not correct.
