Tech scientists pursue genetic fix for mad cow

US - The two veterinary science researchers have been working on the project for about two years. As farmers and agriculture officials scramble to retrace the life history of the United States' first official mad cow, two Virginia Tech scientists are working on a genetic fix that could one day shield cattle from the brain-wasting disease.
