Survey: Most South Koreans deem U.S. beef 'unsafe'

SOUTH KOREA - Almost nine of every 10 South Koreans believe U.S. beef is not safe to eat. A poll of 500 randomly selected consumers conducted by the Korea Rural Economic Institute shows that 87.4 percent believe U.S. is not safe for human consumption, and 66.6 percent said the same of Australian beef.
Interestingly, 34 percent had doubts about the safety of Korean beef, which points to an distrust of the beef industry as a whole.
