Bison industry suffers under BSE ban

Canadian bison producers are trying to get attention to the impact of a U.S. ruminant ban resulting from BSE on their industry, even though the brain-wasting disease has never been found in their livestock.
When the United States closed its border to ruminants last May after a lone case of mad cow disease was found in an Alberta cow, bison producers lost access to a rapidly growing U.S. market.
