LWR receives unique opportunity to collaborate with leading industry experts to tailor their value proposition

After a thorough evaluation process, Dairy Farmers of America (DFA) has invited Livestock Water Recycling (LWR) to join its 2020 Accelerator programme, which helps mentor and grow companies in the areas of ag technology and dairy food products. LWR was selected from a tremendous pool of applicants for the role they play in the dairy value chain, including the impacts of their technology on herd health, supply chain optimisation, sustainability, and traceability.

“Our goal was to identify companies with applications or technologies that can help improve processes or reduce margins to ultimately enhance productivity on our members’ farms.” says Doug Dresslaer, Director of Innovation at DFA.

Throughout the programme, LWR will have numerous opportunities to meet with a variety of DFA executives and other relevant investors and industry leaders. They will also receive guidance and advice on business development, product development, marketing, and other key aspects business growth.

Dairy farmers go through great lengths to conserve natural resources and safeguard the land they work on. As most dairy farms are family-owned, many share a goal to pass down the land to future generations. To do this, they know that environmental innovation must be part of their succession plan

“The most exciting part of our value proposition is that farmers don’t have to choose between sustainability and profitability” says Karen Schuett, scientist, co-founder, and CEO of LWR.

The state of our planet is always on top of mind for consumers, and farmers have a vested interest in adopting sustainable practices. LWR’s on-farm fertiliser PLANT modernises manure handling on the farm. It improves nutrient value resulting in higher crop yields. Less manure means cleaner barns, healthier herds, and higher quality milk production - happier workers and neighbours too! Less manure to store also means the potential to increase herd sizes.

Reduced greenhouse gas emissions, soil regeneration, and recycled water from manure is an inspiring sustainability story to share with consumers.

“Guided by our vision of lagoon free food production, we look forward to receiving mentorship from DFA as we continue to grow our business and tailor our product to provide actionable data insights that create more value and improve food security for the livestock industry” adds Schuett.

“Ultimately, we were looking for companies where we see long-term potential, as the end goal is to hopefully help and partner with them in some way," Dresslaer adds.

While the programme participants typically spend time in Kansas City, where DFA is headquartered, this year the Accelerator is being offered virtually.
