GERMANY – Milk produced in Germany for retailer Lidl will receive five cents more from the first of October, in a move welcomed by farm leaders.
The increase is to bring stability to milk products and will be added to the retail price, Lidl announced at the end of August.
Germany Farmers’ Association President, Joachim Rukwied, described the move as a “helpful step” for producers enduring “tense” agricultural markets.
He called on other retailers to follow suit in a “corresponding sense of responsibility.”
