The professional development register, which was launched at the Livestock Show in September, now has 40 training providers registered meaning their workshops and courses provide recognition and points to dairy farmers and farm staff attending who have registered with Dairy Pro. So far more than 100 dairy farmers and farm employees have signed up to the register.

David Cotton, who chairs the industry working group for the scheme says: “We are delighted with the launch and see this as confirmation of the demand and need for it in the industry. The recognition and maintenance of existing skills and skills development activities will enable the dairy industry to meet the challenges posed during the next 20 years and beyond.”
