Ms Raggan stated that everyone must be committed in order to eradicate the disease, reports TheObserver.

The topic of the discussion was how to implement policies to achieve the target. Mr Bonica said Ms Raggan told the government that it is to continue what it is doing.

Consequently, he added that before deciding on an eradication plan there must be the commitment of the whole country in all levels otherwise the strategies will fail.

Mr Bonica explained that some producers are discouraged and do not get involved in reporting cases as it will affect them economically.

He said that by deciding not to report cases, producers were preventing the eradication of the disease. He encouraged all producers to report brucellosis immediately, and aid the government, vets and other producers in putting a stop to an economically damaging disease.
