For the very first time, the 2012 event is organised by INRA, the French National Institute for Agricultural Research - as the research institution, in collaboration with IDF, the International Dairy Federation - as the international dairy industry platform.

This event aims at bringing together research and industry leaders to share ideas and information about new developments in two complementary fields of science and technology – the manufacture of dairy powders and the functionality of these products as food ingredients.

The translation of research findings into industrial practice will also facilitate the development of better modelling and control of spray drying processes and the application of new alternative technologies for the manufacture of dried dairy ingredients.

The programme committee offers scientists the opportunity to report on their latest findings to the entire dairy community.

There will be five sessions (+ one commercial presentation session) for the update on scientific advances in the field of Spray Dried Dairy Products. All conferences and posters will be in English and no translation will be available.

  • Advances in Dairy Powder Manufacturing: Membrane Separation, Vacuum Concentration, Spray Drying, Fluidisation, Storage.
  • Whey and Derivates: Lactose and Crystallisation.
  • Process Engineering and Alternative Technologies in relation to Energy Saving and Recovery.
  • Powder Properties and Reactivity: Analysis, Characterization and Behavior during Granulation, Rehydration.
  • Nutrition: Physical Functionalities and Nutritional Values of Dairy Powders.
  • Commercial Session.
