China Reports Outbreak Of FMD In Guizhou

CHINA - There was an outbreak of Foot and Mouth disease in cattle, pigs, sheep and goats in Guizhou province last week.

The veterinary authority sent Follow Up Report No. 20 dated 21 July to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE).

The report describes one new outbreak of FMD which started on 13 July in Longfeng village in Guizhou province in central southern China. The farm had 73 cattle, 124 pigs and 197 sheep and goats, of which 46, 78 and nine, respectively, showed symptoms. All the animals were destroyed.
