Chairman of the group, G. Somasekhara Reddy said that the estimated set up costs would be Rs. 80 crore.

Mr Reddy said KMF would send a proposal to the Government on setting up the mega dairy. It would be set up within a year after getting the approval. He said that KMF had proposed a cheese manufacturing unit in Bangalore in association with New Zealand-based Fonterra Cooperative Group as a joint venture. A memorandum of understanding (MoU) to this effect would be signed soon. It would have an annual production capacity of 50 tonnes. Cheese would be sold under the brand name Nandini.

He said the KMF had plans to increase its turnover from Rs. 5,080 crore in 2010-11 to Rs. 8,000 crore in the next two years.
