Genetics Company Helps Punjab Dairy Sector

INDIA - A US cattle genetics company is to work with farmers in Punjab to boost dairy farming in the region.

World Wide Sires will be working with dairy farmers, the cooperative milk societies and government organisations in the state to establish a network to provide the best quality semen and services.

A report from the Indo-Asian News Service said that World Wide |Sires has already worked with the animal husbandry department, the Punjab Dairy Development Board (PDDB) and Ludhiana-based Progressive Dairy Farmers' Association (PDFA), supplying more than 80,000 doses of semen.

The project is aimed to increase production and reduce the illegal activities of synthetic milk producers.
