Print This Page Vaccination for Cattle Begins
INDIA - The Indian Animal Husbandry Department has formed 21 teams of vets and staff to administer the vaccination programme against foot and mouth disease for cattle in all the villages in Nagapattinam district.Launching the Centrally-sponsored Assistance to States for Control of Animal Disease (ASCAD) scheme of providing vaccination to prevent foot and mouth disease to cattle at the mass contact programme in Marudur North village in Vedaranyam taluk, the Collector M. Jayaraman appealed to the villagers to take their cattle to the nearest veterinary dispensaries and administer the vaccine.
The Collector said that the Animal Husbandry Department and the vets would also give suggestions and remedial measures to the farmers and local people to prevent the foot mouth in cattle, according to a report in The Hindu.
