Another steady week for the cattle trade
The cattle trade once again demonstrated the fine balance between supply and demand.
Overall, prices generally steadied on the week as numbers coming forward were just ahead of last week’s levels. It is likely that as harvest activities have come to an end for many producers they have been more active in marketing cattle, especially on the back of more robust prices in recent weeks. At 31,800 head AHDB estimates suggest that while numbers were 200 head up on the week earlier they were for another week behind those in the corresponding week last year.
