UK Animal Feed Statistics - April 2015
Key points
- Animal feed production was up 8.2% for sheep, 1.5% for poultry and 0.8% for pigs in April 2015 compared to April 2014. Cattle feed was down 1.6%.
- 12.5% more wheat was used to produce animal feed in April 2015 than April 2014 and 20.9% less barley.
- Over the crop year from July to April, animal feed production was up for pigs by 3.7%, up for sheep by 3.0%, level for poultry and cattle was down 0.7% compared to the previous crop year.
- Over the crop year from July to April, wheat used to produce animal feed was up 5.1% and barley usage down 9.6% compared to the previous crop year.
