GB Animal Feed Statistical Notice - February 2014
Key points
- In February 2014 the total GB retail production of animal feed was down -2.5% compared with February 2013
- In February 2014 the total GB raw material usage in the retail production of animal feed was down -2.7% compared with February 2013, with a slightly higher cereal incorporation rate. There was proportionately more barley and maize being used
- In February 2014 the total GB integrated feed production was up 0.1% compared with February 2013
- For the period October to December 2013 quarterly average prices of animal feedingstuffs were as follows:-
Cattle and calf feed - £238 per Tonne
Pig feed - £260 per Tonne
Poultry feed - £274 per Tonne
Sheep feed - £234 per Tonne - This is the second successive quarter where average feed prices have fallen across all categories
