GB Animal Feed Statistical Notice - November 2013
Statistics on GB Animal Feed include data for the period September, October and November,
with percentage changes for the corresponding periods last year.
Key points:
- In November 2013 the total GB retail production of animal feed was down -2.8% compared with November 2012
- In November 2013 the total GB raw material usage in the retail production of animal feed was down -0.9% compared with November 2012, with a slightly higher cereal incorporation rate. There was proportionately more barley being used
- In November 2013 the total GB integrated feed production was down -6.6% compared with November 2012
- For the period July to Sep 2013 quarterly average prices of animal feedingstuffs were as follows:-
Cattle and calf feed - £248 per Tonne
Pig feed - £274 per Tonne
Poultry feed - £297 per Tonne
Sheep feed - £258 per Tonne - For cattle/calf and poultry feed, this was the first fall in price since January 2012
