Paraguay Beef Exports Down in August

PARAGUAY - Paraguay has experienced a 10 percent decrease in beef exports and 15 percent drop in their value compared to the figures recorded in August 2018, authorized sources reported on Thursday.

Data from the National Animal Quality and Health Service (SENACSA) show that the volume of beef exported through August totaled US$630 million. Meanwhile, it amounted to US$743 million in the same period of 2018.

The text also reflects that the total amount of animals slaughtered in these first eight months of 2019 shows a decrease of 11.4 percent (147,972 animals less), compared to 2018.
