Hitting shelves on 18 October, the fresh milk delivers 20g of protein per serving that contributes to the growth and maintenance of muscle mass. Made with simple, natural ingredients, the milk is 30 per cent higher in protein than standard skimmed milk* plus fat free so is an effective way to increase protein intake.

The move comes as the protein trend begins to move further into the everyday mass market, with 45 per cent of Brits now recognising that it’s important to increase protein intake when exercising and 28 per cent agreeing that products with added protein are a good alternative to eating foods naturally high in protein, according to a Mintel report**.

Produced from fresh milk, Arla Protein Milk tastes great alone or is perfect added to smoothies and shakes to give your drink a protein boost.

Steph Barker, brand manager for Arla Protein comments, “We all know that protein is important in a healthy diet and especially for those that are exercising regularly. Arla’s new Protein Milk is an easy way to incorporate the nutrient into everyday life to optimise the workout regime. For gym goers and exercise lovers, it’s the perfect way to make a healthy** choice without sacrificing on taste.”

The launch of Arla Protein Milk joins other products in the Arla Protein range including Arla Protein Yogurt, Arla Protein Milkshakes, Cottage Cheese and Protein Pouches for on the go. The Protein range is a hugely successful brand for Arla Foods, with the dairy cooperative seeing a 72 per cent year on year growth in retail sales value. With £66 million*** being spent on sports nutrition food & drink in the UK, it represents a big opportunity to provide high quality, natural ingredients that support an active lifestyle.
