New Beef Arena Showcasing Latest Innovations at Livestock Event

10 June 2016

UK - A new Beef Arena featuring some of the very latest innovation to help all rearers and finishers improve their management systems will be launched at the Livestock Event, the sector’s largest business to business event staged on Wednesday 6 and Thursday 7 July at The NEC, Birmingham with free entry to all visitors.

An auto system recording individual animals’ weight each time they walk across the unit to access water will be showcased along with pipeline 3-D imagery to measure growth and fat deposition and the newly launched digital automatic dose drench gun that calculates the precise doseage for each animal based on its weight.

The McDonalds sponsored arena which will bring a sharp focus to measuring and monitoring, will also feature live EID reader demonstrations, the central area will be dedicated to weigh crates, cells and accompanying software while an accompanying series of presentations will include systems for safe cattle handling, stepping up efficiency to reduce the carbon footprint, livestock specialist Miriam Parker will be discussing handling systems through the eyes of cattle, whilst AHDB Beef and Lamb will be providing recommendations to producers as to how to select cattle to maximise value.

“Livestock Event 2016 is going to be all about sharing information, ideas and no nonsense practical advice to help all livestock farmers’ businesses build resilience,” comments event director, Matt Knight.

“With almost 50% of our visitors farming beef, we are pleased to develop the new Beef Arena to offer them the opportunity to take home some very practical and relevant advice to implement next day on the farm.”

Livestock Event 2016 will be FREE to all visitors. Persistently low prices across the livestock sector, have led event organiser, RABDF to agree to the free offer, as a gesture on behalf of the charity. Pre-register at www.livestockevent.co.uk
