Australian Cattle Prices Improve
AUSTRALIA - Eastern Australian states cattle supply remained relatively steady week-on-week, with 49,720 head yarded, according to statistics from Meat and Livestock Australia.

The improvement in prices early in the week spurred more cattle to be offloaded at later sales, with Dubbo offering 6,400 head.
Throughput in Queensland remained stable, despite a slightly larger yarding at Roma Store (7,908 head), while total consignments in Victoria lifted above 10,000 head.
Demand across all sectors generally improved, despite the majority of cattle being of typical, plain winter quality.
As a result, most eastern states indicators improved this week, with the Eastern Young Cattle Indicator (EYCI) up 5.75¢ to 339.25¢/kg cwt.
Trade steers gained 1¢ to 360¢/kg cwt, while medium steers improved 18¢ to 348¢/kg cwt.
Heavy steers were 7¢ higher on 367¢/kg cwt, while medium cows increased 23¢ to 262¢/kg cwt. The feeder steer indicator lifted 4¢ to 192¢/kg lwt.
