Young Farmers - What Are Your Needs?14 May 2014
EU - The European Commission has launched a study to identify the needs of young farmers and review agricultural exchange schemes for young farmers.
The study aims to understand the most pressing issues that young farmers currently face.
As part of the study, they are collecting feedback in the form of a survey from young famers (under the age of 40) in a number of key areas.
The questions will identify:
- The needs of young farmers and the main problems they face
- What the knowledge and training needs are of young farmers
- The main information sources used by young farmers
- Young farmers’ views towards exchange schemes
The survey will assess the needs of young farmers in terms of their personal situation and the context in which they farm, and also the kind of knowledge and training required by young farmers.
They would also like to collect information about the overall attitude of young farmers towards exchange programmes, farm visits and other forms of knowledge transfer.
Young farmers (under 40 years old) are asked to complete the survey which takes no more than 15 minutes.
The deadline is 24 May 2014.
Complete the survey here.
The results of the study will be used to provide practical information for possible policies and measures in relation to young farmers on EU and national level.
