Outgoing boss Lorenz Hansen’s move will coincide with the opening of DC’s new cattle slaughterhouse at Holsted and is scheduled for 1 October this year.

“We were in no doubt that Finn Klostermann was an extremely strong candidate,” said Peder Phillip, chairman of directors at DC Beef.

“This process has only confirmed our impression of Finn Klostermann as the person who can lead DC Beef into the future, while at the same time representing a generational change of management.”

Mr Lorenz first voiced interest in leaving the post in 2012 but agreed to oversee the development of the Holsted plant.

Utilising his knowledge of Danish and global beef industries, Mr Lorenz was able to turn DC’s beef enterprise into the biggest into Denmark, said Mr Phillip.

He added: “There is no doubt in my mind that Lorenz Hansen deserves much of the credit for the fact that DC Beef is now Denmark’s largest cattle slaughterhouse.”

“Lorenz Hansen has used his long-standing experience from working in the beef market and his considerable insights into working processes as well as opportunities for innovation to build the position which DC Beef occupies today.”
