Bilateral negotiations have resulted in a new Veterinary Health Certificate giving the US access to Namibia’s two million head cattle industry, the Foreign Agricultural Service has revealed.

The US Department of Agriculture estimates the deal is worth US$100,000 to the US economy.

Namibia’s cattle industry sees 400,000 animals marketed annually, of which 50 per cent are sold to South Africa.
